~4,945 sq. ft. currently in use as a community garden and under consideration to be preserved permanently as a community garden and gathering space. A community process is underway to solicit feedback on this idea.

Support was strong for preserving this site as open space including gardening space, especially for herb growing. Particular components that residents were interested in seeing included were a fence a nd other security measures, space for educational programming, a storage shed, accessible beds, communal growing opportunities, a little library, a possible curb cut for easier access, and the trimming of trees to provide more sunlight. It was also expressed that residents want to make sure the site will be well-maintained. DND will accept comments through October 26, and if support continues, will proceed with an open space RFP.
