Project Goals

Lena New Boston II, project developer, looks to create Olmsted- Russell House, a new 4-story, 52-unit homeownership community that will create wealth building opportunities for Mattapan and Olmsted residents.  Located at 17 Warbler Way  in the former State Hospital site in Mattapan, Olmsted- Russell House is envisioned to be a family-focused, sustainable, and resilient building designed to Passive House standards.  The development will provide homeownership housing, including 3 studios, 15 one-bedrooms, 21 two-bedrooms, and 13 three-bedroom homes. Twenty of the homes will be made available to families earning not more than 80% of AMI, 20 of the homes will be made available to families earning not more than 100% of AMI, and the remaining 12 homes will be made available for market-rate families. The project site is well served by existing public transportation, including the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (“MBTA”) Orange Line, the 21 & 31 bus, and the Fairmount and Needham Commuter Rail Line that provide easy access between the project site and downtown Boston.
