Jeniffer Vivar Wong

Executive Director

Jeniffer Vivar Wong (she/hers/ella) is the Executive Director for the Mayor's Office of Language and Communications Access in the City of Boston. She leads her team in creating an inclusive city, ensuring accessibility to critical resources, programs, events and information for persons who speak a Language other than English (LOTE) and persons with disabilities.

Jeniffer is a DACA recipient from Guatemala, an immigrant, and an ESL learner. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts Boston with two degrees in Business Management and Latin American and Iberian Studies and currently attends Northeastern University in pursuit of a Masters in Public Administration. As a child, Jeniffer would often serve as an interpreter and translator for her parents due to the lack of language access services present in government, schools and hospital systems, all while learning English herself. Therefore, she understands just how vital it is to dismantle barriers to access for constituents, families, and visitors of Boston, as well as how critical it is for the city to provide services that are available to all. Jeniffer collaborates with a number of departments, organizations and agencies in an aligned approach that puts constituent wellbeing at the forefront of their efforts. She is proud to be a part of the city-wide effort of providing language and communications access to all Bostonians.
