The Freedom Trail Foundation is participating in the 8th annual Free Fun Fridays program sponsored by the Highland Street Foundation. On Friday, August 26, 2016, the Freedom Trail Foundation will offer Foundation-hosted Freedom Trail walking tours at no cost to visitors all day long. This year, 80 museums and cultural institutions will participate in the Free Fun Fridays program. Beginning June 24 and running through August 26, multiple venues will be open free-of-charge every Friday for 10 weeks this summer. Freedom Trail tour tickets will NOT be accepted on any public tours on Friday, August 26.

Please note: Franklin Park Zoo will close one hour early at 4:00 p.m., with the last admission at 3:00 p.m.

Free Fun Friday is an increasingly popular event, and we have experienced record attendance in previous years. We're expecting equally high attendance this year, so please plan your visit accordingly!

Parking is free (though lots fill quickly). 

Free Fun Friday is a rain or shine event. Because of the rain some of our exhibits, including Butterfly Landing, Aussie Aviary, and Giraffe Savannah may remain closed throughout the day.

Thanks to Highland Street Foundation The Greenway Carousel at the Tiffany & Co. Foundation Grove will be free of admission from 11:00 am- 6:00 pm on August 5, 2016 About Free Fun Fridays: Highland Street Foundation's Free Fun Fridays offer visitors no-cost admission to many of the most treasured cultural venues in Massachusetts. This program was created to increase access and enrichment opportunities for children and families throughout Massachusetts during the summer months. Every Friday, from the end of June through the end of August, multiple sites are open for free thanks to the Highland Street Foundation.

The Old State House will be open free on Friday, August 5, 2016 from 9am-6pm thanks to the generosity of the Highland Street Foundation.  Stop by to learn about Boston’s Revolutionary past and stand at the site of the Boston Massacre.  

Education Associates and Revolutionary Characters will be on hand to engage visitors in discussion and answer questions in our self-guided galleries.  Due to the volume of visitors, all tours will be suspended for the day.
