We'll be at UP Holland Academy as part of the 2023 Love Your Block first weekend of clean-ups on Saturday morning. Join SPARK Boston Council members and other neighborhood volunteers to clean up the grounds of a BPS site. You only need to bring yourself and your friends and a willingness to get a little dirty to beautify our City! Refreshments will be provided.

Founded in 2017, Dorchester-based PIONEERS Run Crew is committed to making the sport of distance running more equitable, accessible, and fun for BIPOC community members. On April 15, 2022 we are hosting our 3rd annual 26.TRUE Marathon - this one-of-a-kind event is a full unsanctioned marathon (26.2 miles) with a course that was specifically designed to amplify and celebrate the culture and diversity of the neighborhoods that make up the City of Boston. We are holding a drop-in session at the Faneuil Gardens Community Center. Depending on the weather, we will have a table set up outside in front of the community center, or we will be set up inside the community center. Drop in anytime to ask questions, view materials, and learn more about the project. Spanish interpretation will be provided.

Mayor's Poetry Program Reading

Join us in celebrating National Poetry Month with the annual Mayor's Poetry Program reading!

The Mayor's Poetry Program is an annual program in which Boston residents are invited to submit poems to be displayed throughout City Hall and in an online gallery for one year. The theme for 2023, selected by Poet Laureate Porsha Olayiwola, was "Love".

Fifteen poems were selected to be displayed throughout City Hall for a year. Selected poets and honorable mentions will be participating in a reading on Friday, April 21, from 12 - 1:30 p.m. on City Hall Plaza (the Speaker's Corner in front of the main entrance). In the event of inclement weather, the reading will be moved indoors to room 801 at Boston City Hall.
