Located at the Bike Town at Moakley Park, this drop-in event is for families and children ages 4-12 who want to learn to ride and practice their riding skills. A variety of different sized bikes and helmets will be provided, and staff will be present to lead on-bike games and teach bike riding skills and safe riding tips and techniques.

Individuals and families: no registration is required. We will have waivers available at the site. 

Groups and schools: please email us so that we know to expect your group! Hand out waivers to students ahead of time so they can participate. Everyone that takes part in our program must have a signed waiver to ride bikes. Teachers / group leaders are responsible for collecting bringing signed waivers to the event. 

Mayor Wu will host a ground breaking on Geneva Avenue at the future site of Grove Hall’s first BCYF full service community center. Currently a City-owned vacant lot, this location and all aspects of the design of the center were selected after a robust community engagement process and based on the input of local residents. 

Join the Allston Brighton Health Collaborative and the City of Boston for a 2-mile Bluebikes-only community bike ride on Saturday, October 25 at 11:00 a.m. The route and pace are beginner friendly, particularly for folks new to biking and/or new to Bluebike-ing. We'll spend a good amount of time in the beginning going over how to use the Bluebikes and get you comfortable using them in a safe environment before venturing out to the neighborhood.

We will start and end at the Herter Park Bluebikes station. Free Bluebikes coupons will be provided. The ride is expected to take around one hour. Pizza will be provided after the ride. Free bike helmets are also available upon request.

an 8-week introductory course developed by the Oxford Mindfulness Centre and based on the best selling book, Mindfulness: A Practical Guide to Finding Peace in a Frantic World by Mark Williams and Danny Penman. The  practical and accessible course is designed for beginners or older adults with busy lives and limited time. Through guided mindfulness practices,group discussion and guided audio recordings to practice at home for 10 minutes a day, you will learn the essential principles of mindfulness and techniques to build a mindfulness practice.

Morning Movement and Stretching is a class designed to teach seniors basic stretching routines they can do at home to keep their bodies flexible and healthy.

Join the Allston Brighton Health Collaborative, T4MA, and the City of Boston in celebrating some of the new Bluebikes stations in our neighborhood with another Bluebikes-only group ride!

We will meet at the Oak Square Bluebikes station (615 Washington Street) at 11 a.m. and make our way to Ringer Park while stopping by a couple of the new stations along the way. This will be a beginner-friendly 2-mile ride. We will demonstrate how to use Bluebikes and how to safely bike on the street. The ride is expected to take around one hour and will end at Ringer Park. Pizza will be provided after the ride. Free bike helmets are also available upon request.
