All Ages Yoga: This one is for every body, whether you're a seasoned yogi, or a literal baby (accompanied by a grownup), a first-timer, pre/post-natal* or anywhere else in your life's journey - I welcome you! Babies and kiddos are especially welcome and my little yogi may join us too :) Each week we'll switch between a joyful, slow flow class and a more grounded practice with longer stretches and holds to open up the major muscle groups and release tension. Together we will cultivate strength, balance and flexibility in our mind and body. We'll end all of our classes with some restorative poses which will help create a sense of peace and connection within ourselves.

Plenty of opportunity to take this at your own pace. For parents and caregivers, feel free to take breaks to feed, diaper and interact with your baby/kiddo. For pregnant yogis, be mindful of and consider avoiding: deep backbends, heart-openers, closed twists (poses like camel, wheel, chair pose twist, etc). I hope to see you (and your little ones) at the park!

*as long as you're at least 6 weeks postpartum and cleared for physical movement

A Serve and Learn event is a special chance for community members to learn about wildlife, plants, and how we can care for our natural world. Not only can people "learn" through these events, but they can also put their newfound knowledge to work during the "serve" portion.

In this Serve and Learn, Urban Wilds staff will lead lessons on proper tree and shrub planting techniques as well as discuss the insect and mammal species these plants will support. Volunteers will get the chance to plant trees and shrubs in a few locations on site that were previously inhabited by invasive plants.

Planting tools and gloves will be supplied, but if you have a favorite planting tool or pair of gloves, feel free to bring them!

* Please note that due to the involved nature of plant installation, staffing capacity, and the limited amount of space in the planting areas, we cannot guarantee that all volunteers will have the opportunity to plant. We will be monitoring the sign-ups and will offer up planting slots on a first come first basis. In addition to the planting, we will also offer an invasive plant removal component for volunteers that are interested.

Saturday, April 11th, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. (rain date Sunday April 12)

Age Strong Memory Cafe - West Roxbury

Memory cafés meet at a variety of places, including coffeehouses, museums, or community organizations. Each memory café is different. Some cafés invite guest artists, some offer education about memory changes. And some are just for relaxing and chatting. But, all cafés share one goal — to help guests feel comfortable and to know that they are not alone. Cafés are a place to talk with others who understand what you are going through. You can forget about your limitations and instead focus on your strengths.

West Roxbury Branch of the Boston Public Library

Meets the second Friday of every month, from 10:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
