Archives and Records is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but you need to make an appointment ahead of time. Please contact them at least one day before you want to make an appointment.

MARY C. BEAUDRY COMMUNITY ARCHAEOLOGY CENTER
The City’s archaeology facility is where we store, process, and study Boston’s archaeological collections. Our exhibits are free and open to the public, but access to the Center’s collections, staff, and resources is by appointment only.
Exhibits: 1st floor lobby and hallway, Open: Weekdays 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Highlights of Boston Archaeology: Featuring highlights of the artifacts and creations excavated by archaeologists in Boston spanning thousands of years of Boston history.
The James Garrett Site 1639-1656: This series of tall cases exhibits artifacts from one of the oldest historical sites in Boston and one of the most complete 17th century archaeological sites found in the region.
The Archaeology Center: Access by appointment
The Mary C. Beaudry Community Archaeology Center is open by appointment to all. We feature an extensive archaeological library, processing facilities, expert staff, and can provide access to any of our collections held in our archaeological repository. You are welcome to view our activities through our glass walls during open hours, but please be respectful of the City Archives reading room’s posted guidelines.
