ENERGY GRID TRANSFORMATION TECHNICAL ANALYSIS

The City of Boston is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) to support its efforts in aligning and accelerating electrification, environmental, and climate justice goals with energy utilities' grid modernization initiatives. The consultant will conduct technical analysis, process improvements, and stakeholder engagement to ensure that grid modernization supports the City’s climate goals. Key tasks include refining the project’s scope, projecting electrification needs, developing equity-driven siting criteria, analyzing energy infrastructure deployment, and creating systems for improved coordination between the City and our electrical utility, Eversource. The objective is to ensure that grid updates are both climate and community-focused, addressing both long-term resilience and climate justice. The City of Boston, acting by the Environment Department, 1 City Hall Square, Boston, MA 02210, hereinafter referred to as the Awarding Authority, hereby invites written proposals for the project listed above. 

 

Proposals will be solicited from vendors through the City of Boston’s Supplier Portal: boston.gov/departments/procurement

All proposals for this project are subject to all applicable provisions of law and in accordance with the terms and provisions of the contract documents entitled: Energy Grid Transformation Technical Analysis.

Copies of the Request for Proposals (RFP) containing proposal requirements, selection criteria, and other relevant information will be available from the City’s purchasing website and Supplier Portal (boston.gov/procurement) under Event ID# EV00015436 on or about Monday, February 10, 2025, after 9:00 A.M. EST. Proposals shall be submitted before 5:00 P.M., EST, Friday, March 21, 2025, and opened forthwith.
