Mayor Michelle Wu’s Response To Threats From The US Department Of Justice
On August 19, 2025, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu sent a letter and held a press conference alongside community leaders to respond to threats from US Attorney General Pam Bondi.
The US Department of Justice had threatened to prosecute City officials and withhold federal funds unless Boston cooperated with carrying out mass deportations. Mayor Wu has responded by saying, “Stop attacking our cities to hide your administration’s failures.”
