  2. COMMUNICATIONS FROM HER HONOR, THE MAYOR:

    1883    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of Three Million Two Hundred Fifty Thousand Two Hundred Twenty Dollars ($3,250,220.00) in the form of a grant, Boston MPO Surplus FY26 Community Connections Grant Program, awarded by the MA Metropolitan Area Planning Council to be administered by the Transportation Department. The grant would fund support for new e-bikes and spare batteries for the bikeshare system.

    1884    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of One Hundred Three Thousand Two Hundred Thirty Nine Dollars and Ten Cents ($103,239.10) in the form of a grant, the FY27 Local Consumer Aid Fund Grant, awarded by the MA Attorney General to be administered by the Office of Consumer Affairs & Licensing. The grant would fund staff costs, outreach materials, and operational expenses to conduct the Consumer Affairs Program.

    1885    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston to accept and expend the amount of Fourteen Thousand Two Hundred Seventy Two Dollars and Ninety Eight Cents ($14,272.98) in the form of a grant, Wagner Peyser Program Supplemental, awarded by the United States Department of Labor, passed through the MassHire Department of Career Services, to be administered by the Office of Workforce Development. The grant would fund the individual reemployment needs of unemployment insurance claimants, as well as prevent and detect improper benefit payments, and application assistance for training and education resources and programs.

    1886    Message and order authorizing the City of Boston Property Management Department to enter into a contract for a period of up to twenty (20) years to manage, maintain, expand, and modernize the City’s advertising supported Coordinated Street Furniture Program, including bus shelters, public toilets, information panels, digital displays, benches, and related public realm amenities. The newly reimagined program is intended to improve the attractiveness of Public Transit as a commuting option, along with comfort, accessibility, equity, real time information, and maintenance across Boston’s streetscapes while increasing advertising revenue and strengthening City oversight. The initial contract term would begin in May, 2027 and end on April 30, 2037, with two five (5) year extensions possible at the City’s sole option.

    1887    Message and order that pursuant to G.L. c. 40, § 15A, that certain portions of Hichborn Street, Brighton, discontinued by vote of the Public Improvement Commission on May 22, 2025, as shown on a set of plans "City of Boston Public Works Department, Engineering Division, Discontinuance Plan, Hichborn Street, Boston (Brighton)," 1 sheet dated August 29, 2023, is transferred from discontinued street parcel to sale parcel.
