BSM Nov. 2025 Cover

From this issue:

Hi Boston,

I want to make sure you’re aware that Medicare Open Enrollment, the annual chance for Medicare recipients to get coverage, is now open! Our health changes every year—as do health insurance plans, premiums and prescription drug benefits . That’s why it’s important to check in with a trained SHINE (Serving the Health Insurance Needs of Everyone) counselor to make sure you’re getting the best care atthe lowest cost.

You can meet with a counselor at any one of more than 20 neighborhood benefits clinics hosted by Age Strong in partnership with Ethos, the Boston Public Health Commission, Boston Public Library, and the Massachusetts Executive Office of Aging and Independence. Age Strong Advocates will also be available to screen you for additional benefits—things like fuel assistance, food resources, the Medicare Savings Program, transportation, home care services, our senior home repair program, and property tax savings.

Medicare Open Enrollment runs through December 7. Find a clinic near you at www.bit.ly/agestrong2025medicare. Call Age Strong at 617-635-4366 to schedule your neighborhood clinic appointment, or to schedule an appointment with an Age Strong advocate. And don’t miss out on your annual chance to get all you’re eligible for.

See you in the community,

Mayor Michelle Wu
