Tree Removal Hearing

The Boston Parks and Recreation Department will hold a virtual public hearing on the request to remove two (2) public shade trees at 700 Commonwealth Avenue in the Fenway/Kenmore neighborhood of Boston.

The hearing will be held by the City of Boston’s Tree Warden (or designee) remotely on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 10 a.m. via Zoom. The information for the ZOOM hearing is as follows:

  1. 700 Commonwealth Avenue Hearing on the Request to Remove a Public Shade Tree

    In accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 87, the Boston Parks and Recreation Department will hold a virtual public hearing on the request to remove two (2) public shade trees at 700 Commonwealth Ave, Boston. The request is for the removal of two (2) Pear trees measuring 8 inches DBH (diameter at breast height) and 6 inches DBH in order to make the entrances to 700 Commonwealth Avenue and the access walkway from Hinsdale Mall and Cummington Mall, ADA compliant.

    The hearing will be held by the City of Boston’s Tree Warden (or designee) remotely on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 10 a.m. via Zoom. The information for the Zoom hearing is as follows:

    Public comments, questions or objections to the removal of these trees must be submitted in writing prior to or during the hearing to the Tree Warden, Boston Parks and Recreation Department, 1010 Massachusetts Avenue, 3 rd floor, Roxbury, MA 02118 or by emailing trees@boston.gov with “Commonwealth Avenue Tree Hearing” in the subject line.
