Election
Our department directs all municipal, state, and federal elections within Boston. As part of our work, we also register voters, conduct an annual census, and educate the public on voting.
2026 State election: Tuesday, November 3, 2026
- Early Voting: Saturday, October 17, through Friday, October 30
- Vote-by-Mail Ballots: If you plan to return your ballot in person instead of mailing it, we have dedicated drop boxes available across Boston, including at City Hall. You have until 8 p.m. on Election Day to drop off your ballot.
