Emiliana German Roman

Program Coordinator

Emiliana is a proud first-generation American, born in Boston to courageous immigrant parents from the Dominican Republic. She has always known her purpose was to help others and had aspirations of uplifting marginalized communities, which took form as employment in hospitals, after-school programs, and copious volunteer opportunities as a teenager in Boston. In high school, she taught citizenship classes to immigrants and worked as an after-school tutor to young children.

Emiliana graduated from Stonehill College in May of 2022 after double majoring in Criminology and Sociology, as well as minoring in Speech-Language Pathology. Her last semester in college, Emiliana interned at the Edward W. Brooke Courthouse in Boston, which awakened an interest in public policy. The same year, she completed a Sociology thesis outlining economic and social impact on the farm hierarchy, while simultaneously working at a certified organic grocery store as an essential worker during the pandemic. Here, Emiliana completed Dietary Supplements and the Law certification.

She started her career with the City of Boston in the fall of 2022 providing resources to Boston’s young adults as an MBTA Youth Pass Lead Specialist for the City of Boston’s former Department of Youth Engagement and Employment. She then transitioned with her team to the Office of Youth Engagement and Advancement as the Constituent Services Coordinator. During this time, Emiliana completed a certificate program through Cornell University in Plant-Based Medicine.

She has continued serving on the Seed Your Future’s Awareness & Outreach Committee since 2023. Additionally, she serves on the Massachusetts Law Reform Institute’s Food SNAP Coalition. Emiliana enjoys spending time with her loved ones (especially her niece), going on road trips, and continuing to grow, heal, teach and learn!
