(Elise) Nadia Kline joined the City of Boston Archaeology Program in 2019 as its grant-funded Digital Archaeologist. Now a staff Archaeologist, she continues working to document some of the city’s most historically and culturally significant collections and make them available to everyone through artifact photography, searchable online databases, virtual exhibits, social media engagement, and public excavations. 

Nadia received her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Adelphi University, master’s degree in Historical Archaeology from UMass Boston, and graduate certificate in Historic Preservation from the University of Kentucky. She spent several years as a field archaeologist and laboratory technician in the cultural resource management sector before joining the City of Boston Archaeology crew and has worked on sites from Alaska to Maine. She specializes in the archaeology of the northeastern United States and is particularly interested in the relationship between identity and personal adornment/dress.  

Originally from the South Shore, Nadia now lives in Brighton with her fiancée, where she spends her time filling their home with plants, scoping out the historic houses in the area, and entertaining their two cats.
