Ellen Bass
As Director of Capacity Building and Impact for Boston Centers for Youth & Families, Ellen Bass partners with and equips staff to advance the impact and mission of BCYF in the community. Toward that end, she engages staff to design and implement a program quality framework with an equity lens at the organization and site levels, to measure and learn from data that tells about youth and family progress, and to engage our work in the community with increasing skill and commitment. Prior to BCYF, Ellen worked as an independent consultant with youth agencies to build organizational capacity, strengthen programs, and improve outcomes. She also led the Boston Capacity Tank at the Black Ministerial Alliance of Greater Boston, which raised and redistributed more than $10 million in grants and capacity-building services to nonprofit youth agencies in Boston. Earlier, she worked at Federated Dorchester Neighborhood Houses (now Uncornered) and Boston TenPoint Coalition. Ellen and her family have lived on Mission Hill for 38 years; she commutes across the city by bike.
