Katherine Mendez
As the Constituent Services Manager for the Mayor's Office for Immigrant Advancement, Katherine Mendez helps immigrants get access to programs and resources and supports Free Immigration Consultations, connecting people to volunteer lawyers for immigration advice.
Katherine has over 10 years of experience working directly with immigrant populations at one of the most ethnically-diverse hospitals in New York City. She most recently worked at the Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Program as a medical case manager supporting people experiencing homelessness, living with HIV, or with substance use disorders. Katherine holds a Bachelor’s in International Relations with a minor in Spanish and Business from the State University of New York College at Geneseo. She is also an alumni from the first cohort of Immigrants Lead Boston.
Katherine is originally from Colombia and moved with her family to the United States when she was a teenager. She understands firsthand the experience of leaving everything behind and starting from zero. She is delighted and committed to advocating for all immigrants in Boston. Katherine is fluent in Spanish.
