Kerry Jordan

Chief of Staff

A lifelong Boston resident, Kerry Jordan grew up in Dorchester. His family migrated to Boston from Barbados in the early 1980s, and from a young age, he experienced how an ethnically diverse and loving community could overcome conflict. His public service with the City of Boston began as the TV Programming Manager for City Council, leading him to the Innovation and Technology Cabinet 14 years later.

Kerry has enjoyed and contributed to the City's rich cultural, educational, and communal history. He attended primary school through the Boston Public Schools, including New Mission High before it was relocated. He was a member of the Paul Robert Institute for Black Men Incorporated and the Caribbean Heritage Association Youth Program. Leading the guitar section, Kerry performed in Branches Steel Orchestra and won several Panorama titles.

After finishing middle school, Kerry joined the inaugural ZooTeen Program at Zoo New England and became the first program member to be offered a full-time position. You could find him patrolling the zoo, taking breaks to do homework or greet guests. Kerry obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Curry College, where he commuted while working full-time at the Franklin Park and Stone Zoos. Kerry was inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame at Curry College in 2007. Inspired to work in television behind the scenes, this drive brought him to manage TV for Boston City Council.

As Chief of Staff, Kerry leads efforts to bridge the digital divide, enables better user experiences for our neighbors and workforce, and enables data-informed, smart, and effective investments. He will be the first to tell you how kind, brilliant, and honorable his teams are. Kerry is a proud parent to two fun and inspiring children—he also loves kale chips, Hi-Chews, and smiling.
