About our office

Our office tackles the challenges and problems around violence in our neighborhoods. We work with and bring together agencies, departments, and cabinets across the City.

We don't view our challenges as only law enforcement focused. To improve the quality of life of residents, the City must provide:

  • meaningful jobs and jobs programs
  • proper outreach, and
  • prevention and intervention efforts related to violence.

The Mayor believes that our programs and partnerships are crucial to finding solutions. We need solutions that lead to lasting change and address the root cause of violence. Our goal is to create generational change and opportunity.

Project Opportunity

A Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) can pose challenges to employment. That’s why Project Opportunity connects Boston residents with legal experts to determine if their records can be sealed or expunged.
