Tena Fenton
Tena Fenton serves as the Senior Manager of Workforce and Career Readiness in the Office of Youth Employment and Opportunity. In this role, she works to advance the department's goals by collaborating with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders and managing the oversight of career development initiatives and youth & young adult work readiness programming to ensure opportunities are being provided for personal and professional growth.
Jamaica-born and Boston raised, Tena attended Southern New Hampshire University where she completed a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. Prior to this role, Tena served as a Senior Academic Coach at Duet Inc. assisting residents in underserved communities pursue their Associate and Bachelor's degrees. Her experiences have strengthened her skills in leadership, mentorship, student and academic affairs, as well as diversity, equity, and inclusion. Tena has devoted the last 18 years of her life to improving the quality of life of Boston’s youth by working with various non-profit agencies, faith-based organizations, alliances, underserved communities, and youth workers. Her success is built on her drive, unpretentious personality, intentional mentorship, and dedication to leading the new generation.
In addition to youth development and human services, Tena is an advocate for advancing and improving health equity within communities of color. She's a fitness enthusiast who promotes the importance of health and wellness, especially among women. Tena is also the founder of Storii Productions Inc. and the fitness brand (SIIPFIIT) through which she encourages being "you" authentically and unapologetically while having fun all at the same time.
