Tobacco Prevention and Control
BPHC’s Tobacco Prevention and Control Program aims to decrease the impact of smoking and vaping on the health of Boston residents and visitors. We work across Boston’s neighborhoods to protect and educate on the harmful effects of smoking and vaping.
Through organization and community collaboration, and regulatory efforts, our work has helped:
- Protect workers by making work environments free of smoking and vaping
- Hundreds of Boston residents to quit smoking
- Restrict the sale of flavored tobacco and nicotine to prevent youth from starting tobacco use
- The prohibition of the sale of tobacco and nicotine products in pharmacies and educational institutions
