Sweater Weather Fest is a free, all ages event on City Hall Plaza hosted by Sweater Weather Films, where Boston’s film industry opens up to the public. Taking place October 17, the day includes panels with local working filmmakers, crew, and local production companies, plus a short film contest anyone can enter. Guests can browse fall vendors from around the city, grab food from local favorites, and stop by the beer garden throughout the day. The night closes with a feature screening under the open sky. The plaza is fully accessible, with accommodations available for guests who need them.

Do you love clothes with soul, immersive art, skilled classes, and community?

Join us for Boston’s largest-ever clothing swap, where you’ll update your fall wardrobe with special finds curated by your neighbors. Bring your favorite clothes with holes that need patching or stains that we can cover with silk screen printed logos and plant dyes to bring your favorite fits back to life.

We’ll have amazing snacks, legendary speakers, live artists and exhibitions, and opportunities to meet new people who share your passion for fashion and a livable future.

Fun for all ages and stages, including kiddos - and calm, leashed companion animals.

Beginning at noon until 2pm, our attendees will be welcomed to mix and mingle as they bring up to five pieces of clothing they love and want to give away to the exchange (in addition to a few items they want to rejuvenate). Our stations for plant dying, silk screen printing, repairs, and a bioplastic jewelry-making table will be up and running.

Attendees are welcome to take away as many articles of clothing as they want!

From 3pm - 6pm, our attendees are welcome to join interactive presentations about the future of sustainable fashion, biotechnology with mushrooms and fruit leathers, and revolutionary textile solutions to keep our city cool in the future. All of our stations will be buzzing as you enjoy live artists painting, view original exhibitions by local artists, and of course find and fix your new favorite clothes

In this free webinar, you will learn the signs and symptoms of heat stress, how to protect yourself and your workers from heat illness and injury, and how to create a Heat Illness Prevention Plan. The plan outlines comprehensive workplace protections to put in place when:

• the heat index hits 80°F (initial trigger), and
• additional measures when the heat index hits 90°F (high heat trigger).

Our six panelists have experience creating opportunities for individuals impacted by re-entry. They will share their insights with small business employers to help expand accessible career pathways and promote more equitable hiring practices.

Small business owners and hiring managers are encouraged to attend to learn about expanding pathways to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) friendly employment opportunities.

Fathers in Cannabis brings together dispensaries and cannabis professionals for a father-led basketball tournament centered on community, connection, wellness, and culture. This high-energy event will feature dispensary vs. dispensary team matchups, community engagement, music, networking, and cannabis education throughout the day.
