Get ready for a family-friendly, pedestrian-focused event on Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. that transforms Centre St. in Jamaica Plain from Lamartine St. to Lochstead Ave. into a vibrant, car-free boulevard where people can dream, play, and explore. Open Streets Boston will feature live music, food trucks, kid's activities, and much more!

(All Open Streets Boston events take place from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Streets will be closed to vehicular traffic starting at 9 a.m. and reopen at 4 p.m..)

Looking for a free, fun activity to enjoy with the kids? Join us this summer for one of our STEM and Emergency Preparedness workshops hosted by a local teachers and city staff in various parks throughout the City of Boston.

Explore interactive hand on learning experiences while discovering the importance of youth preparedness. Learn about hazards, how to call 911 and how to prepare for emergencies with the Office of Emergency Management!

This series is completely free and open to Boston residents. These workshops will take place in various parks throughout the City of Boston.

Registration is encouraged so we know how many supplies to bring (pre-registration is required for groups of 8 or more). Please email allison.singer2@boston.gov to register.
