Dominick Ferreira is a Digital Navigator within the City of Boston’s Department of Innovation and Technology. He works alongside a team of experts to make internet service, devices, and skills training more accessible to residents across the City.  To help Boston residents bridge the digital divide, he largely focuses on the promotion of the Affordable Connectivity Program and related projects. His work establishing and maintaining productive relationships between City of Boston departments, external governmental offices, nonprofits, internet service providers, and other organizations helps cement digital equity within the technological infrastructure of Boston. 

Prior to his current role, Dominick worked in UMass Boston’s Psychology Department I.T. group as a Student Apprentice. He acted as a liaison between his team and the research labs across campus. His work included hardware and network deployment/troubleshooting, and administrative tasks such as data destruction and surplus processing. He was also involved in a large-scale data migration project for the labs. Dominick first worked as the main point of contact, scheduling server downtime with PIs all the way to confirming the transfer’s completion. After a team member left, he took on their responsibilities, finishing the project alongside IT leadership nearing his graduation from the University.

Dominick cares deeply about the reinforcement of public trust in truth and government. His personal interests focus on understanding how computer-mediated communication relates to media literacy, and understanding the spread of mis/disinformation across digital platforms.
