Boston Climate Leader Awards

We're recognizing the businesses, community groups, and individuals taking innovative actions that contribute to Boston's decarbonization, energy transformation, resilience, and waste reduction goals.

Mayor Wu and the City of Boston’s Environment Department are hosting the Boston 2025 Climate Leader Awards. We're celebrating the partners whose work supports climate action while helping us meet our sustainability goals. 

Awards for businesses, community groups, and individuals will be presented to nominees showing exemplary initiative for Buildings, Energy, Climate Preparedness and Resilience and/or Environmental Protection.

Nomination Process

Nominate a business, community group, or individual doing exemplary climate work in Boston, today!

Nominees will be evaluated on criteria including their:

  • contribution to improving sustainability in Boston
  • innovative and creative solutions to combat climate change
  • benefits to environmental justice communities or integration of equity principles, and
  • demonstration of climate goals in the nominee’s work or priorities.

People or groups can nominate themselves or others who exemplify the mission of this award. The deadline to complete this application and be considered is March 13, 2025, by 5 p.m. (EST). Applications will be reviewed by City of Boston Environment Department staff, and announcements of award finalists will be made March 26, 2025. More information about the award ceremony will be shared with this announcement.
