John Andress
John Andress is the Bill T. Jones Director and Curator of Performing Arts at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston.
At the ICA Boston, he has organized performances by artists working in a range of disciplines, including Ragnar Kjartansson, Meredith Monk, Miranda July, Andrea Fraser, Kid Koala, the JACK Quartet, Matthew Ritchie, and Okwui Okpokwasili, among others. He co-curated the ICA’s 2015 James and Audrey Foster Prize exhibition, a gallery installation accompanied by 40 live performances.
Andress received a B.M from Rice University, an M.M. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and an M.A. from the Institute for Curatorial Practice in Performance (ICPP) at Wesleyan University.
