This year’s Grand Marshals are The Greater Roslindale Medical and Dental Center and Walter Michalik.

The theme is “GRMDC: Preserving The Health Of Our Communities for 42 Years”.

The Roslindale Day Parade occurs on the first or second Sunday of October every year and has been a neighborhood tradition for over thirty years. The annual event showcases the diversity and beauty of our neighborhood and its residents. It’s funded in part by grants from the Office of Tourism, Sports, and Entertainment, as well as through financial contributions of the local business community and the fundraising efforts of the non-profit Roslindale Day Parade Committee.

Initiated as a way to activate the plaza and provide a fun space for Boston residents to socialize, network, and engage with the city, the beer garden will feature exciting brewers, vendors and programming, and include a free workout session hosted by MoveWith and performances by the Mike Fritz Band.

Partner hosts of the event include Mayor Walsh's Civic Engagement Cabinet, City Operations Cabinet, SPARK Boston, Property Management Department, Boston Main Streets and the Boston Main Streets Foundation.

Beer Garden on the Bricks is part of a larger plan to enhance and activate City Hall Plaza both in the long and short term, and inspire creative use of the Plaza through programmed events. Admission to the Garden is free and open to members of the public who are ages 21 and above.

The annual Festival is our flagship event that brings together people from all heritages to share, learn, and celebrate our culture. Our three day event is held at the City Hall Plaza honoring our history, values, traditional music, typical Puerto Rican food, and local arts and crafts for the entire family. The Festival includes kiosks that will feature different activities, including a health fair, face painting for kids, storytelling of Puerto Rican traditional stories and legends, presentations of eco-friendly gardening and cooking techniques, and teaching of Puerto Rican musical percussion.

Our proven ability to attract 185,000+participants in the course of the three day celebration, coupled with this year’s outstanding program of events, musical bands, artists and sponsors, makes the Festival the perfect venue to market and outreach to the fastest growing ethnic population in New England and in the United States.

Also, for the very first time this year the Puerto Rican Festival of Massachusetts will be attempting to set the Guinness World Record for the “Largest Salsa Dance in the Word”. Please stay tuned for more particulars of the event in the coming months!
