The Conservation Commission is holding a special community meeting to discuss new draft Wetland Regulations.
New Wetland Regulations in the City of Boston connect wetland resource protection with environmental justice and climate change preparedness. Learn more about the regulations and the process to develop them as well as how to shape the regulations.
The Boston Conservation Commission will hold a virtual public meeting at 6 p.m. on October 29, 2025 to review proposed regulations and performance standards in accordance with the Boston Wetlands Ordinance, Boston City Code, Ordinances, Chapter 7-1.4. The regulations include:
- Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience,
- Environmental Justice,
- Coastal Flood Resilience Zone (CFRZ),
- Inland Flood Resilience Zone (IFRZ), and
- Extended Riverfront Area.
During the public meeting the Commission will share the equity centered engagement process used to co-develop the Environmental Justice regulations with Boston communities, offer an opportunity for residents of Boston to learn about the draft regulations, and walk through how to provide additional comments and feedback during the public comment period.
The draft regulations will be available for review on Thursday, October 16 at boston.gov/developing-wetlands-regulations.
Members of the public may ask questions and share public comments during the meeting.
