Joanne Suarez, MBE, is a public health professional with an extensive background in community health care delivery, strategy, and advocacy. For nearly a decade, Joanne has worked alongside marginalized communities, predominantly Black and LatinX, advocating for resource accessibility in matters regarding mental health, substance use, and women's reproductive health.

With a great love and passion for service, her personal and professional interest lie at the intersection of social justice, social determinants of health, racial health equity, and bioethics. She received her Master of Bioethics from Harvard Medical School and a Bachelors in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Mental Health and Addiction Counseling from Johnson and Wales University.

Joanne is a first-generation Dominican and a native Bostonian born and raised in East Boston. She enjoys reading, writing, cooking (and eating) and spending time with friends, family, and her dog, Bandit.
