Work with us
Visit the City’s bid listings page and filter the results by Parks and Recreation to view our open bids and Requests for Proposals. We also have information about past bids and results. Dates and times of upcoming bid openings are listed in the City Record.
Vendors help us activate our parks with fitness classes, workshops, performances, and concessions. We also work with the local business community to procure goods and services. Visit the Supplier Portal to become an approved vendor and complete common transactions.
Sponsoring an event, program, or initiative can help you meet your marketing goals. We also offer a park partners program. This program connects friends groups and other local organizations interested in programming in their local park. You can work with us on park improvement projects and volunteer as a group.
How to:
Secure approval to develop property near a park
Any construction or alteration within 100 feet of a park or parkway requires the approval of the Boston Parks and Recreation Commission prior to the issuance of building permits.
Apply to remove a street tree
Apply for permission to remove a healthy public shade tree planted in the sidewalk next to your property for construction or other reasons.
Get your business certified
You can apply for certification with the Equity and Inclusion Unit if you own a certain type of business in Boston.
