Brian Hone
Brian Hone is an art educator, cultural producer, and creative consultant based in Boston, MA. With a breadth of experience in a variety of museum roles and settings, he currently serves as curator of education with MassArt Art Museum (MAAM) at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Prior to MAAM, Brian managed studio programs with the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston and worked within the community engagement division to expand access to art for audiences traditionally excluded from museum spaces.
Brian began his museum career with the Taft Museum of Art in Cincinnati, Ohio. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting and a Bachelor of Science in art education from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) and a Master of Liberal Arts in museum studies from Harvard University, Extension School (Cambridge, MA).
In addition to his work in museum spaces, Brian is also an independent cultural producer and creative consultant. In 2020, he co-founded, with Kelsey Hammond, Art In Between, an artist collaborative facilitating access to art and ideas. He regularly works with private clients, institutions such as Harvard University and MIT, and cultural organizations in Boston and beyond.
Brian was nominated for the Boston Art Commission by the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum.
