Abraham Ferrera
Abe (Abraham) joined the Environment Department in December of 2022 and is the Energy Analyst for the Municipal Energy Unit(MEU). Abe tracks and analyzes the energy and water consumption for City-owned buildings and works on various reporting duties such as the Municipal Greenhouse Gas Inventory, Building Emissions Reduction and Disclosure Ordinance (BERDO), Better Building Challenge, Green Communities, and the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) City Scorecard.
Before joining the City, Abe worked as an Industrial Hygienist for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP) and as a Mathematics instructor/tutor for the City College of New York STEM Institute. During his time at the STEM Institute, Abe worked with under-represented minority high school students and helped them prepare for the challenging college-level study demands.
Abraham received his B.E. in Chemical Engineering with minors in Chemistry and Mathematics from The City College of New York in New York City. During his free time, Abe enjoys reading, playing video games, walking around local parks, and watching reruns of his favorite sitcoms.
