Farm to Early Care and Education Learning Collaborative
The Farm to Early Care and Education Learning Collaborative For Family Child Care (FCC) Educators provides an opportunity for educators to learn about promoting young children's healthy eating and access to fresh local produce.
The Office of Early Childhood is committed to high-quality early education and care for all infants, toddlers, and children under 5.
Boston Healthy Childcare Initiative presents the Farm to Early Care and Education Learning Collaborative. It's open to any FCC Educator that:
- is an EEC-licensed FCC Educator, and
- operates in the City of Boston.
What is Farm to ECE?
- A series of 5 interactive workshops designed to give early childcare providers knowledge to promote healthy eating and access to fresh local produce
- During this collaborative, educators:
- Explore ways of introducing children to where our food comes from
- Identify opportunities for growing, planting, and harvesting produce
- Explore community resources that provide access to local produce
Participants will receive 11 hours of professional development for attending the sessions and completing the assignments.
These sessions will be offered in English and Spanish

- English: Zoom Wednesday, March 12, April 16, May 14, and June 11 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. on Zoom and Saturday, June 21 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. in person
- Spanish: Thursday, March 13, April 17, May 15, June 12 from 6:30pm-8:30pm on Zoom and Saturday, June 21 from10am-2:00pm in person
